1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DIRA (dirabh.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.

2. Independent Status & Non-Affiliation

DIRA is an independent, non-profit digital initiative developed by a private team of student developers (Dhyan, Avinash, Ahmed, and Merwyn).

We are not an official government agency, a branch of the Ministry of Interior (MOI), or any national security entity.

This platform is a community-service tool built to support national resilience and is maintained on a voluntary basis.

3. Information Accuracy & Official Sources

All emergency news, alerts, and navigation data provided via DIRA are aggregated from official public channels, including the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) and the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

• No Original Reporting: DIRA does not generate, edit, or verify original news content.
• Secondary Resource: This app is a secondary information tool. In any crisis, users must prioritize instructions from official state broadcasts, sirens, and emergency services (999).
• Data Lag: We do not guarantee real-time synchronization. There may be a delay between official announcements and their appearance on this platform.

4. Intellectual Property & Use of Logos

All government logos, trademarks, and news content displayed on DIRA remain the exclusive property of their respective official entities.

DIRA claims no ownership over official state data and provides it solely for the public interest under "Fair Use" for community safety.

The "DIRA" brand and its original source code are the intellectual property of the development team.

5. Privacy & Zero-Data Collection Policy

In alignment with Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), DIRA is engineered with a Security-by-Design architecture:

• Anonymity: No user registration, names, or contact details are collected.
• No Tracking: We do not use cookies, pixels, or analytics to identify or track individual users.
• Localized Processing: GPS data is used exclusively on the user’s device to calculate distances to shelters/hospitals. This data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

6. Limitation of Liability & "As-Is" Provision

The DIRA development team provides this service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages resulting from the use or inability to use the platform.
• We are not responsible for inaccuracies in third-party map data or the availability/status of physical shelters and medical facilities.

7. Service Interruptions & Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the service at any time without prior notice, especially if required by national authorities or for critical security updates.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
